CHESTERFIELD SOFA BLUE

For a long time, the Chesterfield style was characterized by three things: its resistance, its masculine personality, and its entirely brown pieces, pigmented with aniline on the skins that covered its seats. That worked and still continues to do so. It's what character brings to these sofas. However, any selection of Chesterfield furniture currently ranges from classic models to contemporary ones.

The trends that change with the time, is what determines at any time what is the color or shape that is fashionable. The Chesterfield sofas, in that sense, have managed to maintain their essence for a couple of centuries, but their transformation came in the twentieth century and was nothing less than the feminization of their design. The robust became lighter; the implacable forms curved a bit and the colors, eventually, changed. One of the most popular waves was that of the old navy; that is, the navy blue. The industry began to add it when other fabrics were used to upholster the sofas, making it possible to pigment Chesterfields with a variety of colors. This shade of blue was the one that achieved the most and still maintains fame for two reasons: it does not alter the personality of the furniture too much and it is easy to combine. Almost all the Chesterfields that are manufactured and distributed are brown, with the exception of some jet. The truth is that the presence of dark tones allows customers to associate it with this style.

The blue navy, pulling a little black, does not break that tradition and, in addition, brings much more than what remains. Thus, a Chesterfield sofa in navy blue can be placed anywhere. It can be combined with mahogany, glass and chrome surfaces. It combines with cakes and cold tones, and even with those that tend to be warmer. Depending on the fabric, a Chesterfield of this color also admits that some ornaments are added on their seats, perhaps cushions of vivid colors or a cover on the back. Since the design acquired feminine tones, they changed all the ways of introducing them into the interiors of a house. That opened the way to versatility.

Currently, for more casual spaces, an original Chesterfield may be too overwhelming; getting home designers to advise their clients to use a more dosed trend of this style. This is represented by the navy blue Chesterfield in all its fullness. As with this color, physical stores and online are adding more colors to their stock, and sales are maintained or increase according to the season. It will be a reason to enter the section of contemporary elements to come across all the selection that there is for the clients. On the other hand, the variety of colors does not affect the designs that are essential in this type of furniture. Whether it's a square, two or three seats, with armrests curved outwards or straight, the models will always be available and finding new ways to modernize.

There will be people who feel identified for life with an original Chesterfield and to which, in some way or another, the new styles disturb at times. However, considering the passing years and the movements that modify the world, it is completely normal that the furniture industry also decides to innovate.
